LETTER TO MY FANS: PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
Greetings to my loyal fans!
*Please forgive me. I had to get it out*
Thank you so much for supporting my work! You are honest with me, and I am so grateful for that. It shows me that you care. I find it important to give back as much as I receive. I know that giving and receiving are one. I know that there is no competition, because there is enough for everyone. What the universe has for you, I cannot take it. What the universe has for me, you cannot take it. Before I ramble on, let me share something with you. As you know, Oprah is moving to "OWN" which is her "own" TV network. I am so proud of her. For the past few days, her farewell shows have aired. Because I have been so busy finishing upcoming projects, I missed the shows. Trust me, I had all intentions of watching them. Thank goodness for the creator of DVR. I was able to watch them. *So Grateful* They were so inspiring, especially, the last one. Aside from being in awe of the rose pink dress she wore, I finally had my Oprah moment. I've heard one of my mentors, Tyler Perry, mention his Oprah moment. I've heard close friends, Oprah's guest, and many more mention their Oprah moments. I heard what they were saying, but I truly didn't understand what they meant until I had my Oprah moment. You want to hear it? Ok don't judge me. :)
For the past few days, while in and out of meditation, I kept hearing my inner instructions say "just keep doing what you do, you'll see the rewards." Ok, let me explain. As I climb the ladder of my new career, I face many challenges. I've realized a few things while traveling this journey. One in particular, I asked to be on this journey. You know how people say, be careful what you ask for because you just may get it. Well, I asked for it, and I realized once I did get here that this is where I am supposed to be. I truly feel that being on this journey I'm on is my calling-what illuminates me. I was driving one day and the thought hit me; that being on this journey is just like driving from point A to point B. You don't know if there is going to be an accident, slow traffic, construction, etc. All you know is that you are leaving your start point to get to your destination, very much so like the journeys you choose. You do not know the challenges that's in between. All you know is that you found what you want to do, and you want to go as far and touch as many lives as possible.
Ok, so, when I kept hearing "just keep doing what you do, you'll see the rewards" and then watching Oprah's final words, it was all just a confirmation that I was traveling on the path that not only I asked to be on but the path where the Creator called me forth to share my gifts. Oprah talked about how each person has a calling. Each person has something that illuminates him/her inside, and the world sees that. Your gift may not be one that requires worldwide fame or fortune. However, your gift may allow you fame within your own circle. When you find your gift, stay with it and keep moving forward. In a nutshell, those were her final words. In hearing this, I just cried. *Wow* As I write this to you now, I cry, because I am still touched by it. I am ever so grateful for finding my gift; finding what illuminates me. When you can do that thing for free or any time of the day, and still keep a smile on your face knowing that you long to soar to greater heights, I feel that this is a clear indication that this is your gift.
I finally had my Oprah moment! I am still having my Oprah moment. I can feel it that years from now I will still continue having this Oprah moment. Thank you Oprah! Thank you to my fans for continuing to listen to me; for sticking with me; keeping me humble.

Fam, I just logged on and your post was one of the first on my home page feed. I had to comment.
ReplyDeleteI just watched that last episode on DVR at about 8 oclock this morning cause last night i watched the monday and tuesday shows...
Q, when she spoke i cried fam. I did. I can admit that. Everything she said touched every part of my soul.
Prior to watching this last show, I will be truthful and tell you that I did not like Oprah too much because i felt that the interview she did with Iyanla Vanzant left a bad taste of superiority on her part, in my mouth when she was speaking to Iyanla.
So, I never had an Oprah moment nor did I know what one was. But I see that i too had that moment earlier today!! Wow! Everything you took from the show is what has be resounding in my head all day!! It is so ironic how you just spoke everything I was feeling!!
I am happy that you found your calling! It is a beautiful feeling!! Continue to do what you do fam! and let noone, i mean noone get in your way!! including yourself!!
Now when I get a lil extra money, I will support YOU & PURCHASE your book!! no doubt!!
Thank you so much!
