Disclaimer: I do not write these passages to make you think the way that I think or know in my truth. I write to make you think and to help you develop your own truth.
A wise person once said to me, “When you chase things, they will run away from you.” How many times have you found yourself listening to love songs, or singing to songs like, “F*** You, by Ceelo? And on the part of that song you can relate to the most, you sing that part the loudest wishing that the person who broke your heart could hear it? At the end of the song you ask yourself, I thought you wanted me, what happened? So many times people focus their thought on finding their mate. So much until it becomes an obsession. So much until you settle with the first thing that appears to be consistent with what you want. So much until when that person comes along, you chase him/her back out the door. You lose yourself in that person trying so hard to be the “perfect person” you think that they need. And I ask, what makes you the “perfect person” when that person is not reciprocating the love that you give to him/her.
You cannot give so much of yourself until you completely lose who you are in the process. You will never find “true” happiness in any material thing or in any person even if you feel like you’ve found the “right one.” “True” happiness starts with loving who you are. And because you cannot love self without knowledge of self, then get to know you. Appreciate being in the presence of you. It is impossible to be happy in something or someone, when you really don’t know the “true” meaning of it. Well, Quandi, define “true” happiness? It is when all the material things and people (who you think make you happy) are gone but that feeling of gratitude still remains. You can crack up laughing at a movie just as loud as if someone else was there with you. You can go shopping or have dinner with yourself and be just as content as if your “perfect person” was there next to you.
Many folk get so caught up into emotional innergy until thinking becomes secondary. Inconsistent signs of dedication to your commitment are there but you still hold on hoping for a change that is not promised to come. True enough at the time that your paths crossed there was a need for that person in your life. Maybe, through an experience with this person you had to learn a lesson. Or through the experience with that person, the universe utilized this connection as an interference to deter you from entering a certain path. When that experience is over, you don’t want to let go, although all the signs are there telling you to move on. You hold on not even realizing that doing this, stunts your growth and possibly the other person’s too. Happ-IN-ess is your choice! Create your circumstance withIN! Balance in the celestial realm!
